Series History: F&M takes on Keystone for just the second time in school history. The Diplomats squared off against the Giants last year for the first time, coming away with a 72-66 victory.
The Diplomats take on McDaniel Saturday for the 100th time in a series that began in 1955. F&M leads 76-23, including a 33-9 in CC play with the teams splitting last season.
Robinson's Climb: Glenn Robinson enters the week with 872 victories, which ranks ninth all-time among all divisions in the NCAA and is 10 victories shy of taking over the sixth spot on the NCAA All-Time Coaching Victory List. To get there, he will need to pass coaching legends Jim Calhoun (873), Adolph Rupp (876) and Dean Smith (879), who hold down the sixth through eighth spots.
F&M Last Week: The Diplomats started the season with a 2-0 mark to win the 2014 Lancaster Rotary – F&M Charity Tip Off Tournament. F&M started the week off with an 85-59 win over Washington & Jefferson and finished the week off with a 63-57 win over New Jersey City.
Morgan Lee scored a game-high 23 against W&J, shooting 9-for-15 from the floor and pulled down 11 boards to finish with a double-double while Cedric Moune also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon Federici added nine and Figueroa hit three-of-four from behind the arc for 12 points.
Mike Resnik had 17 for the Presidents and Nick Martin chipped in 14 from the bench.
F&M outshot W&J 54 to 37 percent and held a 52-34 advantage on the glass.
Freshman Brandon Federici scored a game-high 19 points to lead F&M over New Jersey City on Sunday.
Cedric Moune finished with 11 points, nine boards, five blocks and two steals for the Diplomats while Morgan Lee netted 15 points. Moune landed on the All-Tournament Team and Lee was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Tate added seven and Jared Wright shot 2-of-2 from the floor for seven points.
Neville Joseph led the Gothic Knights with 15 while Eddie Brown and Khalid Muhammad both finished with 11 points apiece.
Last Time We Met Keystone: Cedric Moune had a career-night with 15 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks to lead F&M to a 72-66 win over Keystone last year on Nov. 19th.
Five players scored in double-figures for the Diplomats. Moune led with his 15 points, shooting 6-for-7 from the floor and 3-for-5 from the line, while Terrel Phelps finished with 14 and Matt Porter scored 13. Jon Salandra went 6-for-13 from the floor and finished with 12 points and pulled eight boards while Krong went 2-for-3 from behind the arc to finish with 12 points for F&M.
Dan Candemeres led all scorers with 16 points for the Giants while Ducan Lunsford finished with 14 and Jess Longmire netted 12 for Keystone.
F&M held a slight 38-36 edge on the glass and outshot the Giants 56 to 35 percent.
Last Time We Met McDaniel: McDaniel handed Franklin & Marshall a 67-56 setback last season on Jan. 18.
Matt Porter shot 6-for-11 from the floor to finish with a game-high 19 points. Salandra ended with 15 points, three steals and two blocks for the Diplomats while Moune added eight and Terrel Phelps handed out six helpers for the Diplomats.
Andrew Merlo led the way for McDaniel with 18 while Wesley Brooks and Cameron Royster both finished with 13.
The Green Terror outshot F&M 48-37.5 percent and held a 37-24 advantage on the glass.
