Men's Squash

No. 7 F&M Edges Drexel

LANCASTER, Pa. - The bottom half of the No. 7 Franklin & Marshall's men's squash team's lineup came up with key performances in a narrow 5-4 victory against No. 12 Drexel on Wednesday evening at the Mayser Center. The win improved the Diplomats' record to an unbeaten 3-0 on the year, while the Dragons fell to 0-1. 

No.'s 7-9 all came away with sweeps to put F&M out in front in the early going of the matchup. Brian Henry at No. 7 was dominant in a 3-0 decision (11-6, 11-5, 11-1), while No. 8 Kareem Nabil Abdel Mawla (11-7, 11-5, 11-7) and No. 9 Christopher Bown at No. 9 (11-9, 11-5, 11-5) were impressive to lead the bottom half of the lineup. 

Alex Arjoon (No. 3) picked up a marathon 3-2 decision (11-13, 11-8, 6-11, 13-11, 11-5), while Michael Sorochev cruised at the No. 6 spot with a commanding 3-0 sweep (11-5, 11-7, 11-4). 

Dylan Cunningham (13-11, 12-10, 3-11, 6-11, 11-9) battled back from an early 2-0 hole at the No. 2 position, taking the next two games to tie up the contest, but fell in the fifth game. 

The Diplomats return to action on Saturday, traveling to No. 10 Princeton for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
