LANCASTER, Pa. – McDaniel defeated Franklin & Marshall 81-39 in each team's Centennial Conference (CC) opener on Wednesday evening in women's basketball action. The Diplomats slipped to 0-3, 0-1 CC, while the Green Terror improved to 3-0, 1-0 CC.

McDaniel jumped out to a quick lead, scoring the first 10 points to go up 10-0 with 16:58 left in the first. From there, the Green Terror went on a 20-9 run to extend the lead to 30-9 at the 5:28 mark. Going into the break, McDaniel had a 41-16 advantage.

F&M opened up the second half on a 6-3 run to make the score 44-22 with 17:14 remaining in the game, but the Green Terror never let up, thanks to a 45.9 field goal percentage in the second half, plus 12 points off turnovers.

McDaniel maintained its lead for the rest of the game and went on to win by a score of 81-39.

Caroline Studnicky led the Diplomats' offense with eight points, while adding six rebounds. Sarah Haddon was in double digits in rebounds at 10 in 33 minutes of action. Erica Brown and Leslie Bacile each notched six points and Devandria Bernard brought down six rebounds and added two blocks.

For the Green Terror, four players were in double figures, including Karli Zeps (17), Lindsey Nichols (14), Alyssa March (11), and Steph Perez (10).

F&M held the narrow edge as a team in rebounds at 50-48.

The Diplomats are back in action on Saturday, traveling to York for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
