COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall defeated Ursinus 64-49 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Tuesday afternoon. The Diplomats remain undefeated this season with a 7-0, 3-0 CC mark while the Bears are still looking for their first win, dropping to 0-6, 0-3 CC. 

Head Coach Glenn Robinson picked up career win 877 and passed University of Kentucky coaching legend Adolph Rupp for the seventh spot on the NCAA All-Time Coaching Victory List.  

F&M jumped out to an early 16-0 advantage six minutes into the game and never looked back, leading wire-to-wire. The Bears came within 12, 18-6, at 8:24, but the Diplomats but together a 15-2 run and took its largest lead of the game, 33-8, with 3:28 left until the break. Ursinus scored seven straight to make it 33-15, but the teams traded possessions to make it 36-16 at halftime.

The Diplomats continued their dominance in the second half, but the Bears did manage to make it a 16-point game, 41-25, at 14:28 before Brandon Federici scored five straight to put F&M back up in the 21. Ursinus never mounted a serious run as F&M cruised to the 64-49 victory.

Federici shot just 4-for-12 from the floor, including two treys and went 7-for-8 from the stripe to finish with a game-high 17 points for the Diplomats. Morgan Lee netted 11 points for F&M while Jared Wright and Hunter Eggers both finished with eight.

Matt Knowles paced the Bears with 15 points and Steve Leonard chipped in 10.

F&M shot 44 percent while its defense limited Ursinus to 36 percent.

The Diplomats continue CC action on Saturday when F&M hosts Haverford at 3:00 p.m.
