COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall was stopped by Ursinus 66-51 on Tuesday night in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action. The Diplomats slipped to 0-6, 0-3 CC, while the Bears jumped to 3-4, 2-2 CC. 

Ursinus put F&M in a hole right away, as the Bears began the contest on a 12-5 run, and increased the lead to 25-5 with 11:14 to go in the first.

Heading into the break, Ursinus held the 40-19 advantage. Sarah Haddon led the Diplomats' offense in the opening half with six points, while Erica Brown and Anajha Burnett notched four.

Throughout the second half, the Bears held the advantage and were ahead 55-36 with 10:23 remaining in the game. F&M cut the lead to 56-40 with a Haddon layup, but Ursinus shut the door and did not allow the Diplomats to get any closer, en route to the 66-51 victory. 

Burnett paced the F&M offense, finishing with 11 points off the bench, while Haddon and Emily Wetz each recorded 10. Carli Studnicky brought down a career-high 11 rebounds, while Brown registered eight. 

Jessica Porada led the Bears with a game-high 18 points, while Olivia Kane added 12 off the bench and Alyssa Pollimeni chipped in 10.

Ursinus outshot the Diplomats 38.2-25.4 percent, and held the slight edge in total rebounds at 53-48.

F&M returns home on Thursday for a CC matchup against Haverford set for 7:00 p.m.
