Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team closed out its regular season with a 61-44 victory against Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats finished out their season with a 4-21, 2-16 CC record, while the Red Devils fell to 5-19, 1-17 CC.
F&M jumped out to an 8-2 lead with 15:27 to go, however Dickinson countered and went on an 8-4 spurt to come to within two points of the Diplomats at 12-10 with 10:38 remaining.
From there, F&M dominated the remainder of the half, including a 19-6 run that spanned nearly 10 minutes of action to take a 31-16 lead. The Diplomats would go into halftime with a 31-18 advantage.
F&M started the second half on a 12-4 run to take its largest lead of the game, 43-22, with 12:50 left in the contest. The Red Devils battled back to bring the deficit to 13 at 50-37 with 5:29 remaining, but a 3-pointer from Sam Plunkett at 2:30 put the Diplomats up 59-41 and put the game out of reach.
Jessica Dowicz paced F&M, going for a career-high 16 points. Kristina McCarthy and Emma Lisle were also in double figures in points as McCarthy notched 13 while Lisle tallied 13 points, including a 9-for-9 mark from the charity stripe, to go along with 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
Liz Schultz led Dickinson with 12 points and six rebounds, while Helen Roberts scored seven points.
The Diplomats outshot the Red Devils 42.9 - 20 percent from the field and F&M outrebounded Dickinson 57-32. As a team, the Diplomats rejected 14 shots, a team-high in blocks this season.
