Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 10 Franklin & Marshall defeated Muhlenberg 85-57 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Tuesday evening.  The Diplomats improved to 14-0, 7-0 CC while the Mules dropped to 7-7, 3-4 CC.

The Diplomats tied their longest winning streak since 2011-12 when F&M started that year off 14-0. The program record belongs to the 1994-1995 team that started the regular season off with a 25-0 mark.

F&M never trailed and jumped out to an early 13-2 lead on Cedric Moune jumper six minutes into the game. Muhlenberg answered with a 12-6 spurt to come within five, 19-14, before a Matthew Tate triple fueled an 11-0 run to put the Diplomats up 30-14 with 5:07 left to the break. The Diplomats continued to dominate the remainder of the half and took a 43-24.

Brandon Federici led the way for F&M in the first with 11 points while Morgan Lee and Moune both netted eight.

The Diplomats went up 25 points on two Federici foul shots early in the second and increased their lead to 28 on a layup by Jared Wright at 11:47. F&M maintained a double-digit lead the remainder of the game and led by as many as 30, 83-53, at 3:25.

Federici hit six treys to pace the Diplomats with 24 points. The freshmen has turned in seven 20 plus point performance this season and has finished in double-figures in 12 contests.  Lee shot 7-for-14 from the floor for 15 points and Moune picked up his fifth double-double with 14 boards and 11 points.

Tate went 4-for-4 from the stripe and finished with 11 points while Wright also scored 11 off the bench. Devin Figueroa was the sixth Diplomat to finish in double-figures as he poured in 10 points, handed out six assists and picked up two steals.

Owen McLeod led Muhlenberg with 16 while Brandon LasRose finished 12. Malique Killing came into the contest averaging 18.6 points per game and due largely in part to the defensive play by Wright and Tate finished with just eight.

F&M outshot Muhlenberg 44-37 percent, held a 45-32 edge on the boards, including 16 offensive rebounds, which led to 18-second chance points.

The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when F&M travels to McDaniel for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
