Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall could not overcome a 13-0 first-half run from McDaniel, dropping a 74-32 contest to the Green Terror on Wednesday evening in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The Diplomats fell to 3-11, 1-7 CC, while McDaniel improved to 12-1, 7-1 CC.
The game began with the Green Terror's 13-0 run, which included back-to-back treys, to put McDaniel ahead early with 15:35 remaining in the first. With 6:04 left, Anajha Burnett nailed a triple to bring F&M within 15 at 27-12, but the Green Terror put together a 12-5 spurt to end the first, taking a 39-17 lead heading into the break.
In the second half, the Diplomats were unable to close the gap any further, as McDaniel shot 43.2-percent from floor in the second and committed just four turnovers in the half, not allowing F&M many opportunities for points off turnovers. The Green Terror went on to win by a score of 72-34.
Burnett finished with eight points for the Diplomats, while Emily Wetz added six.
For McDaniel, Lindsey Nichols, the CC's second-leading scorer, led with 12 points, while Karli Zeps tallied 11 and Shelby Taylor chipped in 10.
The Green Terror outshot F&M 39.7-23.5 percent, while McDaniel dished out an impressive 20 assists.
The Diplomats return to the court on Wednesday when F&M travels to Carlisle to battle Dickinson at 6:00 p.m.
