LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 9 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team brought an end to a two-match slide and closed out a three-contest home stand in emphatic fashion, blanking No. 13 Williams by a 9-0 score on Friday evening at the Mayser Center. The victory once again brought the Diplomats' record above .500 at 6-5 on the season, while the Ephs fell to 5-5.
Abhishek Pradhan overcame an opening game defeat to take three straight on his way to a 3-1 win (6-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-8), while Cole Osborne (No. 2) and Dylan Cunningham (No. 3) each helped pace the top of the order by rolling to three-game sweeps.
Alex Arjoon at No. 4 (11-6, 11-9, 11-7), Brian Henry from the No. 5 position (11-7, 11-6, 11-1) and Gavan Hitchenor at No. 6 (11-6, 11-7, 11-0) each cruised with sweeps in the contest. The No.'s 7-9 spots in the order each did their part in the victory as well, with Kareem Nabil Abdel Mawla blanking his opponent at No. 7 by an 11-4, 11-5, 11-4 tally, while Christopher Bown (No. 8) and Ishan Advani (No. 9) followed with 3-0 triumphs.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24 by taking part in the Middlebury Round Robin. F&M is set to compete against four teams over the span of the weekend, beginning day one with matchups against No. 15 Bates (9:00 a.m.) and No. 25 Conn. College (5:00 p.m.)
