Series History: Franklin & Marshall takes on Immaculata for the first time in program history on Saturday in the first game of the Sponaugle New Years Tournament. The Diplomats will face either No. 4 Richard Stockton or Lynchburg on Sunday. F&M is tied with the Richard Stockton at one game each, with the Ospreys picking up the last victory in the series, a 62-58 win in the 2009 Final Four. The Diplomats hold a 3-0 mark over Lynchburg.
Robinson's Climb: Glenn Robinson enters the week with 879 victories and recently tied University of North Carolina coaching legend Dean Smith for the sixth spot on the NCAA All-Time Coaching Victory List.
CC POTW: Franklin & Marshall senior guard Morgan Lee was named Co-Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week for men's basketball on Dec. 15. The honor was the first for Lee this season and the third straight for the men's basketball program.
Lee poured in a career-high 28 points to go along with nine rebounds in a 74-70 victory over Albright. He made 11-of-18 shots from the floor and added a blocked shot. He shared the award with Gibby Graves from Haverford.
Last Time Out for F&M: Morgan Lee scored a career-high 28 points to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 74-70 victory over Albright in non-conference basketball action on Dec. 13.
Lee shot 11-for-18 for 28 points and added nine boards while Hunter Eggers tallied 10 for the Diplomats. Brandon Federici and Devin Figueroa both netted eight.
Four players scored in double-figures for Albright with Gilberto Benz leading the way with 17. DeJuan Smith had 15 while Josh Marquez and Evan Wards chipped in 13 and 11 points respectively.
F&M outshot Albright 45-37 percent and held a 43-39 edge on the boards, including 16 on the offensive side, which led to 21 second-chance points.
A Word on Immaculata: The Mighty Macs have a 4-4 record entering the weekend, with three of those losses coming in the opening week of the season. Immaculata holds a 3-0 mark in CSAC action and are led by CSAC player of the week Mamadou Diakite. Diakite earned POTW honors for the second time in three weeks as he averages 14 points and 7.5 boards per game.
A Word on Lynchburg: Lynchburg enters the tournament with an 8-1 mark. The Hornets have a 1-1 record in the ODAC conference and are led by Alex Graves, who averages 16 points a game.
A Word on Richard Stockton: The Ospreys are 10-0 and rank fourth in the country. Richard Stockton have a 4-0 record in the NJAC conference action and are led by Armin Cane (19.7 ppg) and Josh Blamon (14.6 ppg).
