Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson defeated Franklin & Marshall 81-48 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Wednesday evening. The 14th-ranked Diplomats dropped to 14-2, 7-2 CC while the 7th-ranked Red Devils improved to 14-2, 7-2 CC.
F&M started out with an early 8-4 lead on a layup by Cedric Moune in first four minutes of action before Dickinson answered with a 10-4 spurt and took the lead for good. Morgan Lee's triple at 8:34 brought F&M within a point, 17-16, but Dickinson answered with eight straight for a 25-16 advantage. The Diplomats stayed close and came within seven, 28-21, with a little over three minutes left in the half, but Dickinson outscored F&M 8-4 the remainder of the half and went into the break with a 36-25 edge.
The teams traded points to start the second half and Brandon Federici scored six straight for the Diplomats to bring F&M within five, 45-40, with 11:18 remaining in the contest. Chris Cox's dunk on the Red Devils next possession fueled a 12-0 run for Dickinson and gave the hosts a 17-point lead, 57-40, at 8:28. Dickinson maintained a double-digit advantage the remainder of the game and led by as many as 34 points.
Lee finished with a game-high 18 points for the Diplomats, shooting 6-for-15 from the field. Federici tallied 16 points while Cedric Moune grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
Brandon Angradi led the way for Dickinson with 17 and Gerry Wixted netted 14. Cox went 5-for-7 and finished with 10 points.
The Diplomats held a 47-40 advantage on the boards, but the Red Devils outshot F&M 49 to 27-percent.
F&M continues CC action on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Haverford for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
