Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Four players were in double digits in points as Franklin & Marshall cruised past Bryn Mawr by a score of 75-22 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's basketball action. The Diplomats improved to 5-11, while the Owls fell to 1-12.
After F&M began the contest on a 7-0 run with 17:08 remaining in the first, the Diplomats extended the lead to 15-2 off a Shannon O'Connor layup with 10:31 left.
F&M held a comfortable advantage for the rest of the first, and ended the opening half with a 15-0 run as the Diplomats went into the break with a 40-6 lead.
O'Connor led the offense in the first half with nine points, while Sarah Haddon had eight and Erica Brown chipped in seven.
To begin the second half, F&M put together a 14-4 spurt, capped off by a trey from Leslie Bacile, to give the Diplomats a 54-10 lead at 14:54.
F&M kept the substantial lead for the remainder of the half, and never trailed in the contest, en route to the 75-22 victory in dominating fashion.
O'Connor had a career day and finished with 19 points, six rebounds, four steals, and four assists off the bench. Haddon and Brown finished with 13 points each, and Emily Wetz notched 10.
The Diplomats shot 44.1 percent from the floor, compared to Bryn Mawr's 21.4 percent. F&M turned 32 Owls turnovers into 42 points, and their largest lead of the day was 54 points (66-12 with 5:51 left in the game).
The Diplomats are back in action on Tuesday when F&M welcomes Gettysburg to the Mayser Center at 6:00 p.m.
