LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 9 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team dropped an 8-1 match against the nation's No. 2 team St. Lawrence on Sunday afternoon at the Mayser Center. The defeat snapped a six-match winning streak for the Diplomats and dropped their record to 11-6 on the season, while the Saints improved to 13-1.
Despite the lopsided score, F&M was only swept once on the day, while falling in a pair of matchups that went to five games. The lone win for the Diplomats came from senior Brian Henry at the No. 6 spot, competing in his final contest at the Mayser Center.
Henry fell behind early after losing his opening two games, but followed with three straight victories for the come-from-behind win.
Cole Osborne took his opponent to the wire at No. 2, but was ultimately dealt a 3-2 defeat (11-7, 10-12, 11-8, 5-11, 11-7), while Kareem Nabil Abdel Mawla suffered the same outcome at No. 8 with a 3-2 loss (13-11, 11-5, 5-11, 8-11, 11-7.)
Just two matches remain on F&M's schedule until the CSA Team Championships, with the Diplomats traveling next to George Washington on Friday for a 6:00 p.m. competition.
