Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg defeated Franklin & Marshall 76-62 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Wednesday evening. The Diplomats dropped to 19-5, 12-5 CC while the Bullets improved to 13-11, 9-8 CC and secured a spot in CC Tournament.
Tied at 9-9 seven minutes into the game, Gettysburg went on a 12-4 run and took the lead for good. F&M stayed within striking distance and came within five, 25-20, on a Brandon Federici trey at 5:41, but the Bullets netted nine straight and took a 34-20 lead with 2:34 left in the half and went into the break with a 39-24 lead.
Federici paced the Diplomats with seven points in the opening frame while Cedric Moune tallied six. Kevin Gladstone scored 12 for the Bullets and Sean Gordon chipped in 10.
F&M outscored Gettysburg 8-3 to start the second and a Devin Figueroa triple brought the Diplomats within nine, 41-32, before the Bullets answered with a 12-6 spurt to go up 53-28. Gettysburg maintained a double-digit edge the remainder of the game and led by as many 18 with 3:24 left in the game.
Morgan Lee paced the Diplomats with 11 points, shooting 5-for-10 while Lionel Owona, Federici and Moune all tallied 10 points.
Gladstone poured in a game-high 19 points for the Bullets and Pete Christ scored 14 off the bench. Cameron Stewart and Gordon both netted 12 for Gettysburg.
The Bullets outshot F&M 64-25 percent while the Diplomats held a 26-23 edge on the glass.
F&M wraps up the regular season on Saturday when the Diplomats host No.11 Dickinson at 3:00 p.m.
