GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall suffered a 72-51 setback at the hands of Gettysburg on Wednesday night in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action. The Diplomats fell to 5-19, 2-15 CC, while the Bullets jumped to 16-7, 10-7 CC.

F&M was put in a hole right off the bat, as Gettysburg jumped out to an 8-0 advantage with 18:34 remaining in the first. With 12:23 to go, the Bullets maintained an eight-point lead at 19-7, before going on a 6-0 run to extend the margin to 25-7 at 9:35.

The Diplomats then scored six straight points, including four from Emily Wetz, to bring F&M to within 12 points at 25-13 with 6:30 to go in the opening half, but Gettysburg went into the locker room maintaining its double digit lead at 31-18.

Shannon O'Connor led the Diplomats in the first with seven points and three steals, while Anajha Burnett and Wetz each recorded four points.

Leslie Bacile opened up the second half with a jumper to make the score 31-20 at 19:55, but the Bullets followed with an 11-0 run to make it a 42-20 game with 16:34 to go in the contest.

From there, F&M came to within 12 points at 47-35 off a 15-5 spurt, capped off by a Wetz trey at 11:40, but the Diplomats were unable get any closer, as Gettysburg was 13-for-14 from the charity stripe in the second half, en route to the 72-51 victory.

Burnett finished with 14 points, while adding five boards and three assists, and Erica Brown added 10 points and seven rebounds. Haddon recorded a career-high four blocks, while Devandria Bernard tallied three blocks.

Jessica Porter paced the Bullets with 25 points, while Emily Duggan chipped in eight.

Gettysburg outshot the Diplomats 40.9-30.0 percent and outrebounded F&M 62-35. The game featured 18 blocks, nine from both squads. 

The Diplomats conclude the regular season by hosting Dickinson on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
