Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – Dickinson used a second-half run to defeat Franklin & Marshall 79-58 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action. The Diplomats ended their season at 5-20, 2-16 CC, while the Red Devils finished up their season with a mark of 7-17, 4-14 CC.
Before the game, Kara Bacile, Leslie Bacile, and student manager Czarina Hutchins were honored on senior day.
With Dickinson ahead 38-37 with 13:43 left in the game, Erica Brown put F&M ahead with a layup at 12:59 to give the Diplomats a 39-8 lead. The Red Devils' Myonie Williamson followed with a free throw at 12:52, which tied the contest for the sixth time, at 39-39.
From there Williamson took over, guiding Dickinson to a 20-0 run that spanned for just over three minutes of action. Williamson scored 11 of the 19 points, including two 3-pointers, as Dickinson led 58-39 with 9:21 remaining in the game.
F&M was unable to recover from the decisive spurt, as the Red Devils went on to win by a score of 79-58.
In the early going, Dickinson jumped out to a 15-8 advantage with 9:34 to go in the first, but the Diplomats responded with an 11-4 run to tie the game at 19-19 with 5:07 left in the opening half. For the remainder of the first, the teams traded points and F&M went into the locker room clinging to a two-point lead at 27-25.
To open up the second half, the teams continue to go back and forth until the Red Devils' decisive run led Dickinson to the victory. In the second half, Dickinson shot 66.7-percent from the floor.
In the final game of her career, L. Bacile led the Diplomats with 12 points, while bringing down eight boards. Sarah Haddon and Carli Studnicky each added nine points, while Brown and Anajha Burnett tallied eight points apiece.
Mary Martin paced Dickinson with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Williamson finished with 20 points. Kassidy Lesher brought down 18 boards.
The Red Devils outshot F&M 47.5-30.4 percent and outrebounded the Diplomats 50-42.
