HAVERFORD, Pa. – Five players scored in double-figures as No. 17 Franklin & Marshall handed Haverford an 87-56 defeat in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Tuesday evening. The Diplomats improved to 11-2, 6-0 CC while the Fords fell to 2-10, 0-5 CC. 

Matthew Tate netted eight points in the first six minutes of action to lead the Diplomats to an early 12-2 lead. Nicholas Stern's triple at 9:50 gave F&M a double-digit edge, 24-10, and a Tate layup three minutes later put the Diplomats up 20 before going into the break with a 44-22 lead over the Fords.

F&M continued its dominance in the second and Brandon Federici's three at 17:03 made it 53-30. Jared Wright's layup with 13:07 left pushed F&M's lead to 61-36 and F&M held a 20-plus lead the remainder of the contest.

Federici shot 8-for-14 from the floor and finished with a game-high 19 points. Tate had 14 points and Cedric Moune went 5-for-7 with 12 points to go along five boards while Hunter Eggers chipped in 11 points and collected four steals. Stern netted 10 off the bench and Wright finished with eight.

Joe Scibelli and Kahill Garnes both scored 14 for the Fords and were the only two players to hit double digits for Haverford.

F&M outshot Haverford 58-43-percent, held a 29-23 edge on the glass and turned 29 turnovers into 37 points.

F&M returns to action on Thursday when the Diplomats host Johns Hopkins at 8:00 p.m.
