WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Franklin & Marshall's No. 15 ranked women's squash team got back in the win column with a 7-2 victory against No. 14 Middlebury on Sunday, before falling to No. 13 Williams by a narrow 5-4 margin.
The Diplomats moved to 3-6 on the year with the pair of decisions, while Middlebury fell to 6-3 and the host school Williams improved to 8-6.

F&M earned a pair of sweeps on the day from Fiona Murphy at the No. 2 spot and Ellen Verry at No. 7. All the matches went either three or four games, with the exception of the No. 1 spot where Sherilyn Yang held off a Middlebury rally for the 3-2 win.
Sunday's win over the Panthers was the first for the Diplomats in the series since 1998, snapping a 13-match losing streak.

The Diplomats forced more than three games in three of their five losses on the afternoon, including a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat by Verry at the No. 7 position. Verry forced extra points in the fifth frame but was edged by a 12-10 tally.
The Ephs have now won eight straight against F&M, dating back to 2002 and lead the all-time series by a 19-8 margin.
