Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg ended No. 13 Franklin & Marshall's six-game winning streak with a 73-57 victory Wednesday evening in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action. F&M dropped to 13-3 and suffered its first conference loss with an 8-1 CC record while the Bullets improved to 13-3, 8-1 CC.
Gettysburg jumped out to an early 6-0 edge and improved its lead to 17-7 at 12:11. Matthew Tate's triple at 9:02 made it a six-point game, 19-13, but the Bullets countered with an 11-2 run for a 30-15 lead. F&M responded with a 10-2 spurt to make it 32-25 before heading into the break trailing 34-25.
The Bullets went up 13, 45-32, four minutes in the second before Cedric Moune netted seven straight to lead F&M on a 15-5 run to bring the Diplomats within three, 50-47, with 11:07 remaining in the game. That was as close as F&M would get as Gettysburg went on a 13-1 run for a 15-point, 63-48, lead with a little over five minutes left to play and led by double-digits the remainder of the game.
Moune went 7-for-10 from floor to lead all scorers with 21 points. He added 10 boards to finish with his eighth double-double of the year. Hunter Eggers and Tate shot an identical 5-for-13 with 13 points each.
Five Bullets finished in double figures with Pete Christ leading the way with 15 points. Alex Kaslander and Tanner Kirkpatrick both netted 14 while Cam Stewart along with Cody Kiefer each scored 12 for Gettysburg.
F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats host McDaniel at 3:00 p.m.
