LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 13 Franklin & Marshall defeated McDaniel 68-48 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Monday evening in the Mayser Center. The victory completes the season sweep over the Green Terror as the Diplomats improved to 14-3, 9-1 CC. McDaniel dropped to 6-8, 3-5 CC with the loss. 

The first half was a closely contested battle and a Matthew Tate point put F&M up 8-7 at 14:17. Six lead changes ensued over the next 10 minutes with F&M clinging to a one-point edge, 23-22, with 3:39 left in the half. The Diplomats quickly went up five on a Brandon Federici jumper before going into the break with a 31-27 lead. 

Cedric Moune led F&M with seven points in the first and Jared Wright along with Shawn Hines both netted six. 

McDaniel stayed close in the first five minutes of the second and tied the game at 37-37 before F&M went on 15-3 run and took a 52-39 lead at 10:42. The Green Terror came within 10, 54-44, at 7:42, but the Diplomats answered with five straight and maintained a double-digit advantage the remainder of the game. 

Moune shot 8-for-10 from the floor and finished with a game-high 18 points. He added six boards and two blocks. Wright netted 11 points and dished out seven helpers while Federici finished with nine. Hines went 4-for-4 from the floor with eight points and Hunter Eggers had five steals and eight points. 

Tim Stewart scored 12 points for the Green Terror and Josh McWilliams chipped in 11. 

F&M outshot McDaniel 55-43 percent and turned 19 turnovers into 21 points. 

The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday when F&M travels to Dickinson for an 8:00 p.m. tip.
