Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. — No. 19 Franklin & Marshall edged Dickinson 64-62 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Wednesday evening. The Diplomats improved to 15-3, 10-1 CC while the Red Devils dropped to 6-11, 5-5 CC.
The game was tightly contested throughout the entire contest with 11 lead changes and eight ties as neither team took more than a five-point advantage. Lior Levy hit two free throws to put F&M up 8-7 at 15:46 in the first before the Red Devils outscored F&M 9-4 over the next three minutes to take their largest lead of the game, 16-12, with 13:02 left in the half.
F&M countered with a 10-4 spurt and went up 22-20 on a Brandon Federici triple midway through the half. The teams exchanged buckets over the next nine minutes and the Diplomats closed out the stanza with a five point, 37-32, lead at the break.
Cedric Moune put F&M up 40-35 three minutes into the second and a layup by Moune at 11:52 made it 45-40. Dickinson stayed close and tied the game at 47-47 and F&M quickly went back up five. The Red Devils tied the game again at 4:05 at 56-56 before a Federici three a minute later made it 61-56.
Dickinson made it a two-point game, 64-62, with just 1:27 left to play and had three chances to score in the final minutes, but Moune stepped and collected a defensive and picked up two blocks shots in the 14 seconds of action to secure the win.
Moune and Federici both finished with 18 points apiece. Moune added nine boards and four blocks and Federici finished with six rebounds. Levy netted seven and Matthew Tate dished out five assists and finished with four steals.
Three players scored in double-figures for the Red Devils. Brandon Angradi led the way with 17 while Ted Hinnenkamp added 15 and Mike Hinckley chipped in 10.
F&M outshot Dickinson 49-42-percent, forced 17 turnovers and were even on the glass with 30 boards each.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when F&M hosts Haverford at 3:00 p.m.
