LANCASTER, Pa. – F&M used first-half runs of 17-2 and 10-0 to pull away from Bryn Mawr early, cruising to a 78-50 victory over the Owls on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's basketball. The Diplomats improved to 5-16 with the victory while Bryn Mawr fell to 3-16.

A pair of early buckets from the Owls handed the visitors a 4-2 lead in the opening minutes, but 10 points from Haley Pilone keyed a 17-2 F&M response that gave the Diplomats a 19-8 advantage after one. Pilone scored 12 in the quarter as F&M took firm control.

Bryn Mawr cut the lead to 19-10 early in the second, but a three from Lindsey Powers and a pair of layups from Sarah Haddon powered a 10-0 Diplomat run that extended the lead to 29-10 with 6:04 left in the first half. A pair of buckets from Erica Brown and another three from Pilone later in the period would give F&M a sizable 44-20 lead at the half.

Pilone scored fifteen in the first half while Brown added 11.

An even third quarter saw Bryn Mawr hang tough, but F&M never allowed the Owls back within 20 as the Diplomats took a 62-38 edge into the final stanza.

Back-to-back threes from Pilone and AnnMarie DiCarlo put the game out of reach early in the fourth, with the Diplomats coasting to the 78-50 win.

Pilone finished with a career-high 25 points to lead all scorers, and was joined by Brown (15), DiCarlo (12), and Haddon (10) in double digits. Haddon and Powers led F&M on the boards, pulling in nine each.

Erica Dwyer paced the Owls with 15 points, while Cleo Elizabeth-Robertson recorded 13.

The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Ursinus to take on the Bears at 8:00 p.m.
