LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer team celebrated senior day on Saturday afternoon at Tylus Field with a commanding 4-0 shutout of Bryn Mawr.
The Centennial Conference (CC) victory improved the Diplomats' record to 5-8-1, 2-6-1 CC while the Owls fell to 0-12, 0-8 CC.
Before the game, F&M honored its eight-member senior class of Blaise Ebanietti, Alexis Hucek, Kyra Judge, Hannah Kowalewski, Reanna Leoni, Ally Marchiano, Isabella Raspa and Shannon Johnson-Finn.
A slew of early opportunities gave way in the 20th minute when Hucek took a cross from Leoni and landed a shot into the bottom right of the net for the 1-0 edge. The goal was a monumental one for the senior as the tally was the first of Hucek's career.
Freshman Liv McCutcheon followed with her first career goal as well, putting the Diplomats up 2-0 in the 40th minute with a strike to the top-right corner. Sabrina Graziano kick-started the play with a cross to the middle.
Just two minutes after the halftime break, F&M went ahead by a 3-0 score when Nicolette Runko also notched her first-career goal, collecting a Meghan Byrne corner and finding the back of the net.
The Diplomats rounded out the scoring by making it 4-0 in the 50th minute when Runko dropped off a pass to Lauren Kranis who launched a long-range shot on net that made its way past the Owls' goalkeeper.
Gabby Panayotakis (5-8-1) earned the win in net with her fifth shutout of the season while the Owls' Leah Baer (0-11) was charged with the loss despite an eight-save performance.
Shots favored F&M by a staggering 25-0 margin, as well as corners at 11-0.
The Diplomats retake the field on Tuesday, traveling to Eastern for a 3:30 p.m. start.
