Diplomats Fall Short at Pennsylvania Cup

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's No. 18 women's squash team fell to No. 2 Penn. by a 9-0 tally before being edged by No. 23 Dickinson in a narrow 5-4 defeat at Saturday's Pennsylvania Cup in Philadelphia.

The Diplomats dropped to 0-3 on the year while Penn. improved to 1-0 and the Red Devils now sit at 1-2.

The inaugural event also featured Drexel in the four-team tournament made up of Pennsylvania squash program's. Penn. will face off against Drexel in tomorrow's Championship match.

By the Numbers (Dickinson) 

F&M was strong at the top of the order with four wins between No.'s 1-6 in the lineup. However, the Diplomats carried an 0-3 record at the bottom of the ladder. Three contests were decided by more than three games, including Sherilyn Yang's 3-1 comeback victory at No. 1. Yang dropped her opening frame by a 12-10 score before winning 11-9, 11-7, 11-4.
