LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall scored seven unanswered goals, six in the second half, en route to a 9-4 win over Ursinus in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats moved to 10-4, 4-1 CC with the win while the Bears dropped to 6-6, 3-2 CC. 

The Bears won the first half of play, scoring two unassisted goals on their first two possessions. Paige Moriarty carried the F&M offense by registering the next two goals to tie the game at 2-2, the second of which was assisted by Hannah Serling.

Ursinus jumped back on top with two more tallies to make it 4-2 with 7:53 left in the first half. The Bears' defense held strong until Maddie Hughes broke loose and netted one to make it 4-3 with 4:53 left to play. Ursinus gained possession on the proceeding draw, but the Diplomats' defense held strong behind two saves from Danielle Harrington to keep the deficit at one heading into halftime.

The second half belonged to F&M. Grace Norley tied the game at 4-4 off a feed from Moriarty, who followed by scoring the go-ahead goal off an assist from Hughes. The Diplomats never looked back. Natalie Delinsky earned her lone goal a minute later to make it 6-4. Gabby Frank followed several minutes later off a pass from Moriarty. Siobhan Burke and Danielle Wilson each tallied a goal in the final minutes of play, polishing off the 9-4 Diplomats victory.

Moriarty finished as the top offensive performer with three goals and two helpers.

Vanessa Budd and Sarah Bozzo paced the defense with two caused turnovers each.

Danielle Harrington (10-4) earned the win for the Diplomats. She finished with seven saves on the day.

The Diplomats return to action this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., on the road against McDaniel.
