GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team battled back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Gettysburg 3-2 (25-21, 17-25, 16-25, 25-22, 15-11) to remain unbeaten in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Wednesday evening.

The Diplomats improved to a 17-5, 7-0 CC record while the Bullets dropped to 15-4, 4-2 CC.

With tonight's win, head coach Mary Kate Salko notched her 300th career win. Salko is the third coach in CC history to reach the milestone. Salko became F&M's winningest coach in 2016, passing Steve Coulson (251).

The Bullets took a 12-6 lead in the opening set, but the Diplomats rallied when an Allison Franke kill brought F&M within one at 17-16. With Carlita Bozzo behind the service line, the Diplomats took their first lead of the night. A block from Barbara Kapustin and Casey Morrow increased F&M's lead to 21-18 while a kill from Kapustin finished the frame 25-21 in the Diplomats' favor.

A Kapustin and Morrow block gave F&M an early 6-3 lead in the second set. After shifting leads, a block from Franke and Amy Mullen gave the Diplomats back the advantage at 9-8, but the Bullets were able to respond to take the lead for good at 11-10. Gettysburg kept the pace to take the second frame 25-17.

The Bullets carried the momentum into the third frame, taking a 10-1 lead with a block from Morrow and Franke stopping Gettysburg's run. A Nicole Carey kill followed by a service ace from Grace Maggiore brought F&M within six at 15-9, but Gettysburg maintained the pressure to win the third set.

F&M started the fourth frame with vengeance, going on a 6-0 that included two service aces from Grace Polisano to take a 7-1 lead. A kill from Morrow kept the Diplomats' lead at five. A Kapustin kill sparked F&M on a short run to extend the lead to 19-14. Gettysburg battled back to tie the set at 22-22, but a Franke kill followed by a Delaney Hahn service ace ended the set in F&M's favor.

A Mullen kill sparked the Diplomats on a 6-0 run with Maggiore behind the service line to take a 12-4 lead in the final set. A kill from Kapustin stopped Gettysburg's retaliation and Morrow was able to finish the set with a kill to give F&M the match.

Franke paced the offense with 13 kills, followed by Morrow who notched 10 kills and seven total blocks. Maggiore recorded a double-double of 40 assists and 14 digs with three service aces. Bozzo cemented the defense with 17 digs.

The Diplomats return to action on Saturday for a tri-match, first taking on Washington at 11:00 a.m. and then Clarkson at 3:30 p.m.
