LANCASTER, Pa. - Nicolette Runko tallied a pair of goals as Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer team battled back from a first-half deficit to earn its first Centennial Conference (CC) win of the season with a 4-1 bashing of Bryn Mawr on Saturday afternoon.

The road victory improved the Diplomats' record to 2-11-1, 1-8 CC on the year while the Owls fell to 1-11-2, 0-8 CC.

A 26th-minute tally gave Bryn Mawr an early 1-0 advantage in the opening half. However, F&M's offense was quick to respond as Anna Goorevitch knotted the score with a 37th-minute goal, her first of the season.

After the halftime break, the Diplomats secured the lead for good when Kirsten Heine connected with Runko for the 2-1 edge. Heine threaded a pass to Runko, who landed a shot into the left of the net.

Runko followed with her second score of the game in the 83rd, this time forcing a turnover and landing an attempt into the right corner of the goal to put F&M head by two. Just three minutes later, Maija Woodruff capped off the onslaught with her first-career goal, taking a pass from Lauren Kranis and scoring off a shot that bounced off the left post and into the back of the net.

Tara Hessenthaler (2-2) registered one save in 90 minutes to earn the win while Leah Baur (0-7) recorded nine saves in the loss for Bryn Mawr.

Runko led the Diplomat attack with 11 shots, including four on goal. Haley Barge was credited with five shots, followed by Sarah Marsan with three. F&M dominated the overall shot count at 30-4, as well as corners at 8-1.

The Diplomats make a return to non-conference competition on Wednesday, welcoming Eastern to Tylus Field for a 7:00 p.m. game.
