LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 7 Franklin & Marshall fell to No. 4 Gettysburg by a 15-7 tally in the Centennial Conference (CC) Women's Lacrosse Championship game on Sunday afternoon in Shadek Stadium.

The victory gave the Bullets their 10th CC Title and an overall record of 16-2 on the year while the Diplomats finished with a 16-4 mark.

Gettysburg earns the Conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament. F&M awaits an anticipated at-large selection, which will be announced on NCAA.com tonight at 10:00 p.m. 

Paige Moriarty tallied the first goal of the game off a dish from Juliann Lisovicz in the fifth minute of action. The teams traded scores throughout the first half with F&M holding the largest advantage of the half at 5-3 with 6:41 left in the first. 

Moriarty tallied one more goal in the first, and Caroline Kolva and Megan Jackson tacked on unassisted goals to help the Diplomats to a 5-4 edge at the halftime break.

The Bullets came out strong with two quick goals to start the second half, while a goal from Maddie Hughes tied the game at 6-6 with 22:06 left to play. However, Gettysburg rolled from there and went on to score eight unanswered goals over the next 16 minutes to take a commanding 14-6 edge. 

Gettysburg led in draw controls 19-5. The Diplomats went 16-for-18 on clear attempts. Moriarty, Kolva, and Jackson each netted two goals on the day. Katie Groenke led with two assists. 

The Bullets' Steph Colson was named MVP after securing nine draw controls on the day while adding three goals and one assist.

Goalkeeper Danielle Harrington (16-4) came away with six saves and Hughes recorded two caused turnovers while defender Maggie Hanzsche picked up three groundballs.
