BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team delivered its third-straight 3-0 sweep, taking down Moravian in straight sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-20) on Tuesday evening.

The Diplomats improved to 5-3 while the Greyhounds dropped to 5-5.

Back-to-back kills from Barbara Kapustin and Amy Mullen helped F&M to a 3-0 lead early in the match. With the game tied at 10-10, a kill from Kapustin brought the momentum back in F&M's favor. Two service aces in a row by Mullen extended the lead to three. Casey Morrow notched two kills to keep the pace and a block from Morrow and Grace Maggiore gave F&M the first set 25-17.

The Greyhounds came back strong in the second, taking an 11-4 advantage. F&M fought back with little runs sparked by kills from Kapustin and Allison Franke, and a Maggiore kill evened the frame at 18-18. The teams battled, but the Diplomats were able to finish the set with a 5-0 run to take the second game. 

Play remained close in the final set with the scored tied at 8-8. A Kapustin kill sparked F&M on a 3-0 run to take the lead. Moravian fought back to take a two-point advantage, but F&M countered and with Maggiore behind the line, the Diplomats went on a 5-1 run to take a 24-19 lead with a kill from Maggiore dealing the final blow.

Kapustin paced the offense with 17 kills, followed by Franke at 12. Maggiore tallied 41 assists and eight digs. Delaney Hahn and Chloe Kong solidified the defense with 13 and 11 digs respectively.

F&M travels to Allentown this weekend, first opening Centennial Conference (CC) action against Muhlenberg at 12:00 p.m. before taking on Carnegie Mellon at 2:30 p.m.
