LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team delivered a 3-1 (25-9, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16) victory over Neumann on Wednesday evening.

The Diplomats improved to 2-3 on the year while the Knights, 4-1, were dealt their first loss.

F&M took a quick 5-0 lead to start the match thanks to back-to-back service aces from Carly Ostrowski. A Carlita Bozzo ace, followed by a kill from Delaney Hahn increased the lead to eight. Sparked by a kill from Allison Franke, the Diplomats went on a 7-0 run with Grace Maggiore behind the service line to take a 22-6 advantage and were able to take the first set 25-9.

The Knights came out strong to start the second frame, but F&M was able to bounce back with a 4-0 run with Chloe Kong serving to take an 8-6 edge. Neumann responded with short runs throughout the set, eventually taking it 25-22.

With the third frame tied at 4-4, F&M took back the momentum with a 5-0 run that included back-to-back aces from Hahn. The Diplomats kept the pressure on with Neumann falling behind on their own errors, and a kill from Caroline Elgut sealed the set 25-20 in F&M's favor.

Consistent serving from Bozzo early in the fourth set helped F&M to a 10-4 lead. The Knights fought back to come within five at 17-12, but F&M maintained the momentum, tallying two more aces, and ending the match with a block from Casey Morrow and Maggiore. 

Franke paced the offense with 13 kills, followed by Hahn (7) who also recorded three aces. Maggiore notched a double-double of 32 assists and 10 digs while Kong led the defense with 17 digs. 

F&M travels to Lebanon Valley on Saturday for the Dutchmen Quad, first taking on Penn St.-Altoona at 11:00 a.m. before squaring off against the host at 2:00 p.m.
