LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team earned a hard-fought Centennial Conference (CC) victory over Gettysburg on Wednesday night, 3-0 (25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22), to remain unbeaten against CC competition.

The Diplomats improved to 16-3, 7-0 CC while the Bullets fell to 12-10, 3-3 CC.

The opening set saw an early 7-7 tie before Gettysburg went on an 8-3 run that included four consecutive points to take a 15-10 lead. F&M stormed back on a 15-8 run, capped by back-to-back kills from Grace Polisano and Casey Morrow, to take the set, 25-23.

Gettysburg jumped out to a 7-2 lead early in set two. F&M swiftly went on an 11-3 run to take a 13-10 lead. The two teams traded points until the Diplomats led 19-16. At that point, the Bullets took nine of the final 11 points in the set to stun F&M, 25-21, and tie the match at one set apiece.

The Diplomats were down 8-5 at the beginning of the third set, but surged to take a 20-15 lead after a 15-7 run. Gettysburg claimed six of the next eight to narrow the deficit to 21-20 before F&M took three straight points to win a 25-21 set. A Grace Maggiore kill solidified the bounce-back set victory.

F&M took what was thought to be a commanding 13-6 lead before Gettysburg took seven consecutive points to tie the set, 13-13. The game vacillated from there, seeing four more ties. At 22-22, the Diplomats took the final three points to clinch the 25-22 set on a kill from Nicole Carey.

Allison Franke's 17 kills and Maggiore's 40 assists led the way on offense.

F&M had three players record double-digit digs, as Carlita Bozzo paced the team at 13.

The Diplomats return to action Saturday when the team heads to Washington College for another CC match at 1:00 p.m.
