Women's Soccer Falls Short at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer team dropped a tough 2-0 Centennial Conference (CC) game against Dickinson on the road Wednesday evening.

The defeat moved the Diplomats' record to 4-2-1, 1-1 CC on the year while the Red Devils remained unbeaten at 6-0-2, 2-0 CC. 

Both team's defenses held tough throughout the opening 45 minutes of play. Dickinson went into the break with a commanding 7-1 shot advantage, but F&M goalkeeper Sara Ghorashi stood tall in net by recording six saves in the frame.

Dickinson managed to break through in the 66th when Addy Zandi found Meg Tate to put the Red Devils ahead at 1-0.  F&M fought to hang in the contest, but Dickinson put the game out of reach for good in the 79th with a solo tally.

The final shot count favored Dickinson by an 11-3 margin, as well as corners at 10-2. Delaney BesselEmily Cleary and Nicolette Runko each registered a shot for the Diplomats. 

Ghorashi (2-2) was credited with six saves in the loss. Carli Boyer earned the shutout win after picking up three saves. 

F&M aims to get back in the win column on Saturday, hosting CC-opponent Haverford at Tylus Field for a 3:00 p.m. matchup.
