ASTON, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team remained unbeaten after defeating Neumann University 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-16) on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
The Diplomats improved to 4-0 on the season while the Knights fell to 0-5.
Neumann played F&M closely in the first set, forcing the Diplomats to score a 26th point. F&M went on a 14-9 run to end the frame 26-24, cemented by a block by Allison Franke and Casey Morrow.
The Diplomats were down 5-1 early in set two but then went on separate runs of 8-1 and 8-2 en route to the 25-18 set victory.
In the final set, F&M got out to a 4-1 lead and finished the set on a 10-5 run to take the third by a 25-16 score.
Grace Maggiore tallied 30 assists, including the 2000th of her career, just the eighth student-athlete in program history to reach the milestone. She begins the season with four consecutive 30-assist performances.
Allison Franke and Delaney Hahn helped lead the offensive attack with nine and eight kills, respectively.
Four Diplomats registered double-digit digs. Carlita Bozzo paced the defense with 17 digs, Hahn recorded 11, while Carly Ostrowski and Maggiore each had 10.
F&M begins the North Country Invitational in New York on Friday when the Diplomats play Clarkson at 6:30 PM.
