SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall rolled to a 19-3 win over Susquehanna in men's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 1-1, while the River Hawks dropped to 0-4.
F&M led from the opening whistle and took an early 6-0 lead through the first frame. The Diplomats tacked on four more in the second and went into the break with a 10-0 advantage. Five more in the third increased their lead to 15-0 and the River Hawks finally got on the board after being held scoreless for 50 minutes. Both teams scored three goals apiece in the fourth for the 19-3 final.
Kevin Mollihan led all scorers with seven goals, becoming the first player in program history to go over 200 career goals and coming within one goal of resetting the Centennial Conference record.
Luke Keating struck three times with an assist and Blake Target ended with three helpers and a score. Will DeMuth had a pair of goals while Aaron Abrams, Matthew Freeman, Will Mulligan, Connor Mosebrook, Spencer Hall and Eddy Madden all scored once for the Diplomats.
Jarrett Donaghy had three caused turnovers to pace the defense. F&M dominated at the X with Jack Beaty going 4-for-6, Matthew Freeman 8-for-8 and Connor Helm 10-for-12.
Sage Garito turned way three shots in 30 minutes of action and improved to 1-1.
The Diplomats owned every statistical category. F&M led in shots 69-16, ground balls 46-11 and went 23-for-26 in clear attempts.
F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats host Washington & Lee at 12:00 p.m.
