Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall used four first half goals to sink No. 19 Dickinson 4-2 in Centennial Conference (CC) Women's Soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
The win was the Diplomats (8-0-1, 2-0-1 CC) first over a ranked opponent since the 2017 season, when F&M downed Stevens by a 1-0 final.
Mikaela Timmermans started the scoring in the 15th minute, thundering a header off a Meg O'Callahan corner past the keeper for a 1-0 lead. The goal was the first of Timmermans's career, and O'Callahan's ninth dime of the year - a mark that more than doubles the next player in the CC.
Sierra Brophy kept her hot streak rolling in the 22nd minute, tracking down a long clearance from Lainie Anderson and ripping one towards the far post for a 2-0 advantage. The goal was Brophy's 11th of the season and fourth in two games after recording a hat trick against Hood on Wednesday.
The Diplomats then punched in two more within a five minute stretch, as Haley Barge corralled a through ball from Dahlia Pepe and fired it home for a 3-0 lead in the 34th. Pepe got one of her own on a looping free kick from 25 yards out in the 39th.
F&M gave up two goals just three minutes apart in the second half to slice the lead in half, but Sara Ghorashi stood tall with two of her three saves in the stanza for the victory.
The Diplomats led in shots 11-8 and held a 3-2 edge in corners. Sierra Brophy led F&M with three shots, while Alison Francis and Dahlia Pepe each had a pair.
Sara Ghorashi made three saves for her sixth victory of the year.
F&M faces another tough test against a ranked opponent, facing No. 10 McDaniel on the road on Wednesday evening beginning at 4:00pm.
