CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Franklin & Marshall men's squash split a pair of matches at the Virginia Round Robin on Saturday, dropping a 9-0 decision to Dartmouth in the morning before bouncing back with a 5-4 win over MIT in the evening.
Aryan Parekh, Teddy Eill, and Marco DiFilippo were all able to grab games in the morning against Dartmouth, with DiFilippo taking his session to the brink in a 3-2 loss.
The evening session was a back-and-forth affair between the No. 13 and No. 16 teams in the country. After falling behind 1-0, Evann Tan's 22 minute victory in the No. 10 spot evened things at 1-1. Petr Nohel gave F&M a 2-1 advantage with a 3-0 win at No. 1, followed by Michael Tallentire's 3-0 win at No. 6. After dropping one at No. 8, Marco DiFilippo cruised to a 3-0 win at No. 9 for a 4-2 edge. The next two matches went MIT's way, before Jordan Sprecher's 3-0 win at No. 5 gave F&M the fifth point needed to secure the win. Parekh ground out an 11-9, 11-6, 15-17, 12-10 victory at No. 2 that required just over an hour to complete.
