Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team peppered the Washington College goal all afternoon and racked up a 19-1 advantage in shots, but could not push one past the backed up defense as the Diplomats settled for a draw in their Centennial Conference opener.
Meg O'Callahan recorded a team-high four shot attempts in Franklin & Marshall's (5-0-1, 0-0-1 CC) scoreless draw against Washington College (4-2-1, 0-0-1 CC). The Diplomats also recorded the only three corner kicks of the contest as they were pushing the action forward.
A quartet of Diplomats: O'Callahan, Dahlia Pepe, Sierra Brophy, and Bri Skidmore commanded the individual lead of shots on goal with two each. Goalkeeper Sara Ghorashi only needed to make one save in the draw.
The pressure really picked up during the second half and the first overtime as the Diplomats put six shots on goal during the final 45 minutes of regulation and added two more during the first 10 minute overtime.
The Diplomats also extended their stellar start to the season of defense, surrendering only one goal through six games of play. The Diplomats also extended their unbeaten streak to six consecutive matches to start the season, with today being the first draw during that stretch.
F&M returns home on Wednesday as the Diplomats square off against Muhlenberg in a 7 p.m. match under the lights at Tylus Field.
