Women's Basketball Cruises Past Bryn Mawr, 69-36

Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team was in full control against Bryn Mawr on Saturday afternoon as the Diplomats cruised to a 69-36 win inside the Mayser Center. F&M outscored the Owls by double figures during each of the first three quarters on its way to locking up the second consecutive Centennial Conference sweep of the week.

Right out of the gates, F&M surged to a 10-0 lead that was capped by Jaclyn Feit's layup at the 5:30 mark of the first quarter. While the Diplomats were finding their rhythm offensively, the defense was equally up to the task as the Owls scored just 15 points during the first half. That strong play at both ends of the court allowed the Diplomats to take a commanding 37-15 lead into the locker rooms.

The haltime break in the action could do nothing to slow down Franklin & Marshall's momentum. The Diplomats scored 23 points in the second quarter and matched that total during the third period, led by eight points from Natalie Kolb in the period. Kolb went on to finish with a team-high 13 points on the afternoon.

Limiting Bryn Mawr to just four points during the opening quarter, F&M backed up that defensive effort by allowing another single-digit total of nine points over the final 10 minutes. The bench played a huge role in the win during substantial parts of the conference contest as it scored 38 of F&M's points in the eventual 69-36 final.

All 13 Diplomats who dressed for the game hit at least one field goal to get on the score sheet. In addition to Kolb's double-digit output, Feit scored nine points and blocked four shots off the bench while Meg Navarro and Kenna Williams each contributed seven points. Williams was once again a huge presence on the glass with 13 rebounds as the Diplomats held a 54-28 rebounding advantage. F&M also shared the ball well, with 16 assists on 26 field goals. Kennedy Wilburn, Quinn Galligan, and Maia Lockhart led those efforts with three dimes each.

Having won both of its games this past week, the Diplomats will now turn their attention to another big week of Centennial Conference action as the calendar flips to February. The upcoming week will feature a trip to first-place Gettysburg on Wednesday, February 2 at 6 p.m. before the team returns to the Mayser Center next Saturday for a 1 p.m. clash with Swarthmore.
