Brophy's Hat Trick Leads No. 24 F&M to 3-0 Win Over Haverford

Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa.- Sierra Brophy netted her second hat trick of the season, and the fourth of her career to help No. 24 Franklin and Marshall (8-1-3, 3-1-2 CC) shutout Haverford (5-3-4, 1-2-3 CC) 3-0 Wednesday evening at Tylus Field.

In the 31st minute, Meg O'Callahan's shot was blocked by a Haverford defender. Brophy took possession of the rebound and chipped a shot into the net to open the scoring. Three minutes later, Lainie Anderson lobbed a pass into the box to Brophy, who once again found the back of the net. The forward completed the hat-trick just 16 seconds later on a pass from O'Callahan. Anderson was also credited with an assist on the play. It is the second hat trick this season for Brophy, as she accounted for all three scores in the 3-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark in early September.

Emma Nolan had a quiet night in net, making two saves with no shots-faced in the second half of the match. It is the sixth shutout victory for the Diplomats this season.

F&M outshot Haverford in the game, 13-10.

The No. 24 Diplomats travel to face Centennial Conference foe Swarthmore Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
