No. 18 Field Hockey Falls to No. 7 Johns Hopkins

Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 18 Franklin & Marshall field hockey team (10-4, 6-1 CC) was defeated by No. 7 Johns Hopkins (12-3, 8-0 CC) 3-0 in Wednesday evenings Centennial Conference matchup at Tylus Field.

The Diplomats were presented with limited opportunities within the offensive area as they didn't register a shot in the contest. F&M's biggest scoring chance came late in the third quarter as Jessica Miller stole a pass from the Blue Jays' defense. Miller fired a centering pass in front of the net to Sophie Carroll who had the ball bounce over her stick as she fanned on the shot. F&M was also plagued throughout the match with penalties inside the offensive zone that killed any potential scoring chances.

The loss snaps a seven-game winning streak and is the first CC loss for the Diplomats this season.

Franklin & Marshall will look to bounce back on Senior Day Saturday when it takes on Bryn Mawr, who's receiving votes in the national poll. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 P.M.
