Women's Basketball Cruises to 67-39 Win Over Bryn Mawr

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (2-5, 1-3 CC) rolled to a 67-39 victory over Bryn Mawr (2-5, 0-4 CC) for its first Centennial Conference win of the season Thursday evening at Mayser Center.

The Diplomats caught fire immediately as they jumped out to a 21-2 lead in the first quarter. Converting on a steal from Kennedy Wilburn, Natalie Kolb laid it in on a the fastbreak opportunity for the first points of the game. Later in the quarter, Kolb and Lizzie Neville each drained a three-pointer on back-to-back possessions.

In the second quarter, F&M connected on four shots from beyond the arc from four different shooters. Hailey Cabanas got the scoring started in the frame, hitting her second three-point field goal of the contest. Later, Kolb, Neville, and Meg Navarro rained in shots from behind the three-point line to close the half with a 41-12 advantage.

Franklin & Marshall extended its lead to 58-21 after another Navarro three-pointer to hold its largest lead of the night. F&M as a team shot 31.3 percent from beyond the arc on a program-record 32 attempts in the victory.

On the defensive side of the ball, F&M forced 26 turnovers and capitalized with 27 points off turnovers in the game. The Diplomats also outrebounded Bryn Mawr 54-35 in the contest.

Cabanas led F&M in points with 13, while shooting 50 percent from both the field (5-of-10) and from beyond the arc (3-6). Kolb followed with 11 points, shooting 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from the field and 75 percent (3-of-4) from behind the three-point line. Jaclyn Feit tallied eight points, with 10 rebounds and four blocks in the game. Ally Trebelev led the team in assists, recording five of the Diplomats' 18 in the game. Trebelev also swiped four of F&M's 17 steals in the win.

Franklin & Marshall now turns its focus to Saturday's Centennial Conference game where it will travel to play Haverford at 1:00 p.m.
