LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Franklin & Marshall men's basketball team (7-3, 2-1 CC) completed its two-game sweep in the D3 Hoops Classic with an 81-65 win over Wisconsin-Platteville (7-6, 0-2 WIAC) Friday evening at South Point Arena.

F&M jumped out to an early 21-11 lead after a 9-0 run just halfway through the first half. Josh Parra knocked down a jump shot, followed by Jaylen Green draining three-pointers on back-to-back possessions. Green finished the run by converting a free throw at the charity stripe. F&M took a 37-31 lead into the halftime break.

The Pioneers got a quick layup out of halftime, but the Diplomats responded with an 11-3 run to create separation that lasted for the rest of regulation. The run began with John Seidman making jump shots on consecutive possessions. Parra knocked down three free throws, followed by Seidman hitting his third jump shot of the run to put F&M up 48-36.

Franklin & Marshall shot 41.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc in the second half to help propel the Diplomats past the Pioneers.

Seidman led the Diplomats in scoring with a career-high 25 points, while shooting 69.2 percent (9-of-13) from the field in the victory. Seidman also led the game in rebounds with eight in the contest. Omar Nichols finished with 17 points, draining four three-pointers on eight attempts. Parra tallied 15 points, shooting 60 percent (6-of-10) from the field. Green racked up 14 points with three three-pointers off the bench in the win.

As a team, F&M shot 49.1 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from behind the three-point line in the game.

Franklin & Marshall begins 2023 with a Centennial Conference matchup at Muhlenberg Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
