Box Score RADNOR, Pa. – A strong second half allowed the Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (3-6, 1-4 CC) to push past Cabrini (2-7), 50-41, in Friday evening's non-conference matchup. The Diplomats outscored the Cavaliers 33-19 in the final two quarters of the contest.
Down 25-17 early in the third quarter, the Diplomats began a 13-3 run. Jaclyn Feit made a pair of free throws and later knocked down a jumper to cut Cabrini's lead to 25-24. Natalie Kolb tied the game at 26-all after nabbing an offensive rebound and laying in the second chance points. Lizzie Neville and Quinn Galligan added two points each to close out the end the third quarter, giving the Diplomats a 30-28 lead.
F&M knocked down the first nine-points of the fourth quarter to extend its lead to 39-28. Feit tallied seven of the Diplomats final 13 points to close out the contest. Franklin & Marshall worked its way to the charity stripe early and often, as the team went 20-for-25 (80 percent) at the free throw line in the game.
The Diplomats faced its largest deficit of 11 points in the game with five minutes remaining in the first half. However, Feit scored six unanswered points to cut Cabrini's lead to 22-17 heading into the intermission.
Feit tallied 27 points in the win to set a new career-high, while shooting 50 percent (8-of-16) from the field and knocking down 11 free throws in the contest. The junior also nabbed seven rebounds and swatted two blocked shots in the win. Kennedy Wilburn was huge covering the glass as she corralled a career-high 16 rebounds in the victory. Neville ended her night with nine points and four steals in the game.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action in the new year as it travels to face Salisbury for its final non-conference game of the season on Monday, January 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
