Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (7-10, 4-8 CC) cruised to a 60-48 victory over Ursinus (7-11, 4-9 CC) in its Centennial Conference matchup held at the Mayser Center Thursday evening. The Diplomats were solid on offense as they shot 41.2 percent from the field to down the Bears in the contest.
F&M was dominant in the victory as it didn't surrender the lead for the entirety of the game.
Leading 14-13 just three minutes into the second quarter, Franklin & Marshall used a 10-0 run to cushion its lead to an 11-point margin. Jaclyn Feit chipped in the first four points of the run as she knocked down jumpers on back-to-back possessions. Kennedy Wilburn grabbed an offensive board and laid it back in for two as the Diplomats led 20-13 with 5:32 remaining in the half. The run was capped by Natalie Kolb and Feit each going 2-for-2 at the charity stripe to give F&M a 24-13 lead with just 3:42 remaining in the quarter.
Franklin & Marshall took a 28-21 lead into the halftime intermission.
The Diplomats caught fire to start the second half as the team managed to score on each of its first three possessions. Feit drained a three-pointer on the very first shot of the third quarter. Kolb worked her way to the line to knock down two free throws, followed by Feit making a layup on the next possession to push F&M's lead to 35-21 with 8:24 left in the quarter.
Ursinus chipped away at the F&M lead as the Diplomats took a 44-35 advantage into the final frame.
The Bears connected with a three-pointer to cut it to a six-point game, but Kolb and Quinn Galligan each made jumpers on the next two possessions to build F&M's lead back to 10 with 8:43 remaining in the game. The Diplomats continued to attack and put away the Bears. Lizzie Neville splashed a three-pointer with 1:41 left in regulation to give F&M its largest lead of the night, 60-45.
Feit posted a game-high 17 points, while also blocking four shots and corralling five rebounds. Kolb finished with 15 points while going a perfect 8-for-8 at the charity stripe. Neville racked up 11 points with six rebounds and three steals.
Franklin & Marshall looks to continue rolling as it travels to Bryn Mawr Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
