Women's Soccer Dispatches Penn State Berks, 3-0

READING, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (9-2-3, 5-2-1 CC), who's receiving votes in the national poll, claimed its seventh shutout-victory of the season as it blanked Penn State Berks (6-7-1, 2-0-1 United East), 3-0, in the Diplomats' final non-conference game of the regular season Tuesday evening.

F&M broke into the scoring column early as the Diplomats forced a turnover deep into the Penn State Berks defensive area. Zoe Warne connected with Lillian Williams for Williams' sixth goal and third game-winning score of the season. Warne earned her second assist of the fall on the play.

The Diplomats found the back of the net again in the 39th minute as Lillian Kleiman picked up the first goal of her career. For making the crossing pass into the box, Elizabeth Jones was credited with her second assist of the year.

F&M tallied five shots, while limiting the Lions to just three shots within the first 45 minutes of the game.

The visitors tacked on a third goal in the 65th minute as Alison Francis found the back of the cage for her fourth score of the season. With an assist on the goal, Mikaela Timmermans now ties Francis for the team-lead in assists with five this fall.

F&M totaled 13 shots with six on goal in the win. Isabella Fedele, Timmermans, and Williams each registered a team-leading two shots in the match.

Goalkeeper Emily Senko saved both of the shots she faced to claim the sixth shutout of her career.

Franklin & Marshall now prepares to face Gettysburg Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Diplomats' final home game of the regular season.
