Field Hockey Loses to No. 3 Johns Hopkins in Regular Season Finale

BALTIMORE, Md. - In its regular season finale, the Franklin & Marshall Field Hockey team fell to No. 3 Johns Hopkins, 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Jays struck first after Liz Falterer found the back of the cage in the 23rd minute to give Johns Hopkins a 1-0 lead.

In the 40th minute, F&M was awarded a penalty stroke, which Annie Malatesta promptly buried to even the score. However, less than a minute later, Sydney DelBello forced a turnover and scored to put the Blue Jays back in front.

DelBello's goal wound up being the game winner, as the Diplomats managed to take just two shots the rest of the way.

Meghan Dole made six saves on nine shots faced while Alison McCarey and Jessica Miller each registered two shots.

The Diplomats now await their opponent for the first round of the Centennial Conference tournament, beginning on Tuesday, October 31.
