Women's Soccer Advances to CC Championship with 1-0 Win at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 4-seeded Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (12-2-4, 6-2-2 CC) used a goal by Kate Boujoukos in the 22nd minute of the match to beat top-seeded Swarthmore (12-3-2, 8-1-1 CC), 1-0, in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference (CC) Tournament Friday evening.

With the win, F&M advances to the CC Championship game for the second time in school history. The Diplomats last made the championship in 2021 – falling to McDaniel in penalty kicks.

The games' lone score came in the 22nd minute as Boujoukos headed a throw-in from Mikaela Timmermans into the net for the sophomore's second goal of the fall. Timmermans earned her seventh assist of the season on the play, which leads the team.

The Diplomats totaled 16 shot attempts with nine on target in the match. Timmermans led F&M with six shot attempts and five shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Lucille Fleming was stellar in net with a season-high 11 saves in the win. Fleming also claimed her ninth shutout of the season, which is second in the conference.

No. 4 seed Franklin & Marshall will face No. 2-seeded Johns Hopkins for the conference title on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in Baltimore, Maryland.
