Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Tops Albright 79-66

LANCASTER, Pa. - Behind three double-digit scorers on the night, the Franklin & Marshall Men's Basketball team defeated Albright 79-66. It was the final game before a three-week break for the Diplomats, who will not see the court again until December 29.

Trailing 3-2 after the first two possessions of the contest, F&M scored six straight points and did not look back for the remainder of the night. With an 8-5 lead after an Albright bucket, the Diplomats outscored the Lions 9-1 for their first double-figure advantage of the game. The deficit was cut to six after a 7-2 Albright run, but F&M used a 7-2 run of their own to gain another 11-point lead.

After the Lions scored seven unanswered points to get to within four, Omar Nichols made a three-pointer on the other end and knocked down a pair of three throws to keep the Diplomats up by nine. In the final three minutes of the half, F&M was held to just one bucket, and took a 33-28 edge into halftime.

In the opening three minutes of the second frame, both teams traded three baskets each, with the Diplomats leading 39-34 at the 17-minute mark. However, a 7-2 run, capped off by a Jaylen Green three-pointer, gave F&M a 10-point advantage. Following a pair of buckets made by Albright, the Diplomats outscored the Lions 13-4, thanks to a combined three three-pointers made by Green and Nichols.

At the nine-minute mark, Robert Mangum drilled a shot from distance to get the Lions to with 12, but another six consecutive points by F&M gave the Diplomats their largest lead of the game at 18. Staying ahead by double-digit for the rest of the way, F&M improved to 7-1 on the season while staying undefeated in non-conference play.

Kevin Nowoswiat led the Diplomats on the night with 20 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor. Josh Parra registered the first double-double of his season with 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. As a group, F&M forced 19 Albright turnovers and scored 19 points off of them.

Up next, the Diplomats will travel to Lexington, Va. to participate in the Washington & Lee Holiday Classic between Friday, December 29 and Saturday, December 30.
