Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (9-14, 6-12 CC) was outlasted by Muhlenberg (11-12, 10-8 CC), 56-47, in its Centennial Conference matchup Saturday afternoon at the Mayser Center. As the lone senior on the Diplomats' roster, Natalie Kolb was recognized before the game during F&M's senior day ceremony.
Muhlenberg and F&M were neck and neck throughout the entirety of the contest as neither team could escape the other. The Mules held a 33-26 lead with 6:41 left in the third quarter when the Diplomats began closing the gap. Quinn Galligan knocked down a jumper, followed by Ally Trebelev connecting from mid-range to get the Diplomats within three with five minutes remaining in the quarter.
The Mules extended their lead to nine as the visitors jumped out to a 40-31 lead to begin the final frame. Once again, F&M charged back as Jaclyn Feit converted on a three-point play. Trebelev chipped in a free throw one minute later to cut Muhlenberg's advantage to 40-35 with 8:16 left in regulation.
Muhlenberg held a 49-40 lead when F&M made its final push with 3:28 on the clock. Feit went two-for-two at the charity stripe to cut the deficit to seven. Kolb converted a huge three-point play to energize the crowd and make the score 49-45. Feit chipped in a free throw to make it a three-point game with 1:26 left in regulation, but Muhlenberg closed the contest on a 7-1 stretch.
Feit led the Diplomats with 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Kolb finished her senior day with 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers in the contest. Trebelev and Galligan also tallied 10 points each in the game. As a team, F&M outrebounded Muhlenberg 43-35.
Franklin & Marshall starts a two-game road trip to close the regular season. The Diplomats play Dickinson on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. before the season finale Saturday at 1:00 p.m. when F&M heads to McDaniel.
