Field Hockey Downed by No. 8 Messiah

LANCASTER, Pa. - An early goal by No. 8 Messiah led to the third straight loss for the Franklin & Marshall Field Hockey team.

Less than four minutes into the first quarter, Aubrey Clark buried a shot into the cage, assisted by Kelsey Heltzel, for the lone goal of the night.

At the halfway point, The Falcons out-shot the Diplomats 7-2, with Sophie Carroll registering both shots for F&M.

The Diplomats began the third period with a more aggressive approach, tallying three shots in just over six minutes into the quarter. However, three saves by Eva Hancock led to a scoreless frame.

F&M would not get another shot off for the rest of the contest, as it fell to Messiah, 1-0.

In her second straight start, Meghan Dole made four saves in five shots on goal faced.

The Diplomats will stay at home to take on Montclair State on Saturday, September 9 at 3 p.m. at Tylus Field.
